Re: RAM Requirements for 14 or 2 year APM
2 year (R)APM needs ~500MB 15 year RAPM needs 3G (when done the "standard" way) Sparse matrizes are your friend. 64-Bit CPU's/OS's are, as well If, for some reason, you can't get a hold of more RAM you can write a brute force algorithm that takes considerably less RAM but also considerabl...

RAM Requirements for 14 or 2 year APM
Flipped through the forum and elsewhere online looking for an answer to a questioned posed by someone on basketball Twitter (@tpcourier) on RAM requirements needed to run 14 or 2 year RAPM/APM metrics. My hardware knowledge is iffy at best, if anyone has any info they could share I'd be happy to pas...

Re: Learning about / from the betting sphere
First week of fake betting done. Rallied to get to a bit over 40% win. Had a plan to try to just bet the 6 teams I thought I knew a decent amount about (6 top teams for hoped for greater reliability), only when they were home / away, favored / dog v opponent in such a way that the power rating diff...

BPM/VORP/Others Leaderboard and Season Trends
Hey Guys - since BBRef added in some of these metrics I thought it would be interesting to trend them over a season and also break them out by position leaders. Nothing wildly insightful added on my end, these are all numbers that are available, but I've had fun playing around with it. Positions are...

Re: Spread Betting Trends to watch for early season
Can only use IE9 at work and the security is throwing a fit getting in but do you clarify where you get your lines? Are these all against closing lines? I gotta read more before I follow up, just interested to see a little more about your methodology. I had a master sheet and some visualizations aro...

Re: What analytics/databall concepts have most changed the N
I think analytics has completely changed how teams have built front courts. There's now the quest for a stretch guy/rim protector balance and that seemed to have come from the push for 3 point shooting and the ability to quantify defense and defensive presence around the rim. I think it would be eas...

Re: Comparing roughly top 10% of players on several metrics
So this is just 2014 right? The biggest standout to me is Andy and Tyson. I kinda get Pekovic I just don't watch enough Timberwolves for his name to come to the top of my head. 16 of 24 guys being over 6'10 was the other thing that jumped out at me.
