Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

Everybody satisfied with their lineup management?

There are ways to get alternative advice. To use or not.

Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

Bucks starting lineup in playoffs only modestly positive thru first 2 rounds with Mirotic. 20 pts better per 100 possessions with Sterling Brown over Mirotic. What do they do against Raptors? Stay with Mirotic and completely go away from the starters with S Brown. Results? Mirotic and starters suck ...

Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

Thunder in playoffs. Starters sucked in game 1. Game 2, no adjustment, sucked. No adjustment, just ok in game 3. What to do in game 4? No adjustment, sucked horribly. Great in game 5 but too late, not enough. By the regular season it was very good but when should you take the playoff feedback to hea...

Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

Raptors' second most used lineup sucked in playoffs including before the finals. They went with it normal and got a bad first game. Somewhat better after that for a while. But it almost cost them game 6 when it sucked very badly. They avoided suffering too much hurt from it but barely. Should they h...

Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

4 of 5 most used Blazers playoff lineups were negative. Two badly, one horrendous. The most used playoff lineup was already performing badly going into the series with the Warriors. What did they do? They went with it full throttle in game 1... and it sucked. They cut the minutes in game 2 but it st...

Re: 2018-19 lineup analysis

Worst by vast margins playoff lineup used over 50 minutes was the Magic's D. Augustin | E. Fournier | A. Gordon | J. Isaac | N. Vučević. It was mildly positive in regular season but still only 3rd best performer amongst the 10 most used. They really went with it in game 1 for very large minutes and ...

Re: What went wrong for Rockets

Regular season data showed Rockets had a harder time with teams that scored well (duh), rebounded well, got to line a lot and played fast. Warriors were only 2 of these things. There are other future playoff opponents that are good at 2 or more of these. A couple other teams in west had 2 (Nuggets, ...

Re: Early 2019-2020 season commentary

After 2 years of light use, Celtics waive Yabusele and will pay his 3rd year salary unless someone picks him up. It happens but not a scouting, management or coaching success for a just outside the lottery draft pick. Ok boxscore stats, -2 on RPM last season. Will he get a new NBA team this season? ...

Re: New defense metric by 538

The Draymond metric shows how much impact value boxscore metrics are missing. All boxscore metrics could be amended to add Draymond or something of that ilk. Most won't and most won't even consider doing so. PIPM does something in its own way. It is useful to have and compare with DRPM, DRAPM and fa...

Re: Early 2019-2020 season commentary

Other interesting to try lineups could include

Wright Curry Finney Smith Doncic Porzingis
Barea Lee Doncic Kleber Powell
Wright Curry Doncic Kleber Porzingis
Wright Curry Finney Smith Doncic Kleber

Pick 20 to try regularly then focus more and more on the best performing.

Re: Analyzing the Nets

Prince, Chandler, Jordan strike be as ok or meh adds. That and the existing ok to meh may be enough when Durant joins Irving but not enough til then.

Re: Early 2019-2020 season commentary

It is early and they will want to try many things, but my first quick thoughts on lineups for Mavs would be:

starters: Curry Lee Finney Smith Doncic Porzingis
bench unit: Wright or Barea Hardaway Jackson Kleber Powell

closers Wright Curry Jackson Doncic Porzingis

Re: Analyzing the Nets

They were 6th seed last season.

Probably 3-6th seed this season. I'd guess more likely 5th or 6th than 3rd or 4th.
