Re: 2019-2020 season commentary

I found a twitter thread that appeared to be discussing this problem. It said the solution was to set a Referer header value of stats.nba.com. A while back I had to add a Host header value to fix a similar issue where my requests hung indefinitely. So I just changed the header parameter from Host t...

I agree. Even once a month, I think would be reasonable.

Re: 2017-18 quick observations

When you say "pure RAPM", can we take this to mean single-year, no-prior (zero prior)? Also, could you clarify what is meant by "Total RAPM"? :) Yes, it's single-year, zero prior. I guess the term most people used in the past was 'vanilla RAPM'. Total RAPM is just ORAPM - DRAPM ...

Crow wrote:"Total RAPM" is ORAPM - DRAPM by formula it appears; but I don't know what that means.
Thanks! :)

Yes, that is what I figured but I am unsure why that needs to be represented.

Do we have an idea of how often shadow is updating this file?

Here's pure RAPM for 2017-18 so far: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSzp3G5rwP9xgCgluVGmR3Qj4-BMoGSYiuTKM6o_pzES6s95oQE1nQvB2CXed-4fRc_MMGgpULtDaJ_/pubhtml?gid=1825430955&single=true LeBron is 4th in ORAPM and 435th (3rd worst) in DRAPM. I'll update it periodically throughout t...

Re: Keys for Cleveland

7. The most-used lineup for the Cavaliers must be Irving-Smith-Shumpert-James-Frye. Due primarily to being incredibly quick at all five positions and capable of shooting spot-up three pointers at all four positions around James, this is the optimum lineup for the Cavaliers. Both James and Frye have...

Re: Playoffs 2016

Warriors have turned into a defensive juggernaut with Curry out. In 5 Games (not looking at his two half played games): +11.60 SRS, 115.0 ORTG, 101.7 DRTG (not including team TOs) That's a 101.7 against a 108.1 weighted average ORTG for 3 games/2 games vs. Houston/Portland, so 6.8 points below their...

Miami with a crazy 136.9 ORTG (~135 w/team TOs) on Charlotte through two games. Currently the highest ORTG in any series ever since 1984 (record is 127.3 by Phoenix in 1st round of 95 playoffs).

mystic! :)

What are your qualitative/quantitative thoughts on Curry this year? Lot of talk of him playing at GOAT level, would you say you'd agree given what you've seen?

2016 RPM/RAPM/etc.

JE/SI's RPM (single-year) is up on ESPN. http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm Spread seems pretty tight.
