What does this case of "synergy" mean? (Truehoop)

It's not defined, but is it based on simple plus/minus? PER? Like how a player's PER increases or decreases with a player.

I looked at a player pair's plus/minus, and then compared it to the team's offensive rating. That sorta worked to replicate what they're doing in that video, but I'm still not sure.

Yeah I saw that and was wondering the same thing. Does ESPN track that? The PER increasing/decreasing with a player in/out of the lineup would be interesting.
