What to do with the Suns?
What to do with the Suns?
My quick take would be a) fire GM and scouts, b) let go of Watson now or this summer, and c) trade most or all of the young guys for other young guys or draft picks. These young players are not the core to build around. The vets are okay to keep and support the new young core unless you, surprise, get good young players for them.
Re: What to do with the Suns?
When you say young guys do you mean just Bender, Chriss, and Booker? Do you include Jones and Ulis? Len and Williams?
Are you are just proposing a full teardown 76ers style?

Re: What to do with the Suns?
Chriss, yes. Bender, probably. Booker? Yes I would look hard at trading him. Not give away. I think he is over-rated and if someone offers you a lot, you might want to take it. Len, trade or keep, not the biggest decision. I'd play Williams 20 minutes a night and see if he was flash in pan or a good, cheap piece. Ulis and Jones, I don't have an opinion on but I'd be open to offers.

As an ex Suns employee I'd obviously(?) agree with you when it comes firing the GM.
Problem is, they (used to) have the worst GM-hiring process in the league - besides whatever it is the Kings are doing - going from Lance Blanks to Ryan McDonough
Babby gone could be a plus when it comes to hiring the next GM, but who knows

Any noticeable improvements? Not to my eye. Can't see much gain next season. Internal improvement is often over-hyped.

Re: What to do with the Suns?
There's no real reason for Eric Bledsoe to be on this team, besides the fact that they would be dreadful without him. The Brandon Knight contract is quite the anchor. I'm not even sure they could pull the Lakers/Nets deal here and attach one of the young guys to get rid of him. I'm assuming Len takes the qualifying offer, but really, it doesn't matter. While they do have young talent, they just seem directionless.

Re: What to do with the Suns?
Play smaller on perimeter. More minutes to Knight to try to improve trade value. Trade Dudley. Study the next drafts.
