"A very large part of the investment from franchise fees will be reinvested back into European basketball."

If you say it, then make that a legal commitment. Have the money flow to the new league enterprise and be restricted to designated league expenditures.

Prove the revenue model to justify the payments. Lay out exactly how the fees will be spent and extracted. It doesnt seem like the potential investors are satisfied with the pitch.

"The minimum revenues for each club, as reported by Eurohoops, are expected to be 8M euros per season"

Received from league.

I hopethe player salary minimum is significantly higher. If you don't pay for much better players, the new league, with or without Euroleague, won't create much new buzz or greater operating revenue.

EuroLeague salary budget minimum requirements are currently around $5-7 million, but going up. There are different minimums by club status in league.

For all the talk of capturing a bigger commercial opportunity, it is just talk until done and successfully done and sustained without turning off fans.

NBA says teams will be announced in fall. Allowing all summer for the NBA - Euroleague discussions / standoff to potentially continue.

But it probably will continue to be on / off.

It goes nowhere without change by one or both parties.

If NBA and Euroleague decide they are at an impasse, the Eueoleague could consider selling new franchise licenses. To existing teams but also to new ones in UK and possibly elsewhere. At far lower price than NBA. As a tactical move or with lasting intent.

If the NBA was far along with media discussions, I'd think that would be hinted by them, those media companies and possibly Euroleague / IMG. I know of no tangible hints, just a background idea for direct to the consumer.

For conventional media, I kinda doubt they bump soccer, even out of market soccer. Will it bump minor sports or other?

The main news out of today's board meeting to me is confirmation that Euroleague will begin process to sell / create new franchises for a entrance fee, begining July 1.

Who will sell first? Last longest?

Real Madrid remains uncommitted but expected to commit. Has a board meeting on June 30. What if anything will they do then?

Some talk of possibly collaboating with Project B on women's play. Plans to broadcast on YouTube.

No mention of Project B for men by either or any media in 2.5 months since the last vague statement of working on it.

Meeting ends with official statement that

constructive discussions took place and they will meet again in about month.

If it was really constructive, I would have expected a meeting again next week.

An unofficial comment was that no substantive progress was made.

Someone speculated the deadline for final bids could be moved back again.
