Wow -- 8 of 9 in Denver, and 11 of his last 13 trips to playoffs, have been first-round exits.

Last night:

''We didn't lose this series tonight. This is a proud loss,'' Nuggets coach George Karl said. ''We lost this series in Game 1 and 2. We didn't play well enough to sustain the confidence. We won Game 1 on a last-second layup. In Game 2, we gave away everything we worked for with 57 wins in the season. And that's on me.''

Does he think, in retrospect, that he had given up on the series when it was 1-1? Or that his players picked it up from him?
Or possibly that his players had given up, and he couldn't do anything about it?

Andre Miller had 46 points in the first 2 games, and 38 over the next 4.
