B-R.com now gives the Cavs a .198 chance of winning both remaining games.
Not sure how HCA is figured; here are some possible G6*G7 probabilities that equal .198

.50 * .40 seems about right to me.

So ... LeBron has more eWins than any 2 Warriors. Even bigger disparity in VORP; Win Shares a similar story, like last year but more so.

Even missing a game, Draymond leads the Dubs in WS and VORP.
Last year, JVG was one of 4 who voted LeBron for mvp. During game 6, he said it would be a "travesty" if he doesn't win it this time -- win or lose. It's a historic performance, again.

LeBron's round by round progression has been remarkable. Per game averages:

Code: Select all

rd Pts Reb Ast Stl Blk TO
1st 22.8 9.0 6.8 1.8 .8 3.3
2nd 24.3 8.5 7.8 3.0 .5 4.3
3rd 26.0 8.5 6.7 2.0 1.0 2.3
4th 30.2 11.3 8.5 2.7 2.2 4.3
He went 41 mpg in rd 1 vs Det; 36/37 in the middle rounds; now 41 again in the Finals.
His 'advanced' numbers also keep improving with the competition:

Code: Select all

rd PER WS/48 BPM e480
1st 23.3 .164 5.6 2.28
2nd 27.1 .247 11.4 2.50
3rd 34.7 .408 17.2 3.29
His Finals are not quite to that Toronto-series level yet. But after 2 games, 3, etc, his cumulative numbers have been soaring:

Code: Select all

Several guys disappeared from the Cavs' rotation in the last few games. As their team did better, some of their rates improved while they were out.

Here's a game-by-game accounting of Win Shares, VORP, and eWins.
I didn't tabulate for game 1, so gms 1 and 2 are averaged; sorry about that.
First, the teams:

Code: Select all

Gm tm WS vorp eWin
1-2 Cle -.27 -.13 .27
1-2 GSW 1.27 .62 .74

3 Cle 1.53 .72 .68
3 GSW -.45 -.20 .32

4 Cle .17 .10 .34
4 GSW .87 .40 .66

5 Cle .93 .48 .72
5 GSW .06 .04 .28

6 Cle 1.13 .49 .73
6 GSW -.06 .05 .27

7 Cle .61 .32 .57
7 GSW .40 .22 .43
These are from earlier tables showing player and team cumulative totals; themselves derived by subtracting earlier rounds from playoff totals.
VORP total almost exactly half of what WS and eW total. So I'll create an xyz = (WS + 2*vorp + eW)/3 -- to get an average "wins" measure from these 3 stats.
Again averaging gms 1 & 2, leaders by game:

Code: Select all

Gm1-2 107-83 GS tm min WS vorp eW

-.03 J.R. Smith Cle 35 -.05 -.01 -.03
-.04 Kevin Love Cle 29 -.08 -.05 .04
I'm only listing players with either (a) xyz > .10 or (b) min > 24
(Nobody played 21 to 24 min in any game, so that's a handy cutoff.)
These opening games were obviously all-Warriors. Barbosa and Livingston were the surprise stars.

Draymond's game 7 ranks up there with Magic in '80, Worthy in '88, perhaps others that snagged a Finals MVP award.
I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get to find out whether LeBron could have taken it in a losing effort.
