Based on BRef data, there are only small difference in the distribution of shots from regular season to playoffs by basic shot lengths. There is a small increase in average 3pta % from 31.6% to 34.1%. 3pt FG% up slightly from 35.5% to 35.8%. Combined this is a modest increase in importance of the 3 pt game. Among the final 4 Celtics and Cavs both over 40% 3pt rate and up modestly from regular season, Warriors only at 35% (down about 1%pt from regular season), Spurs way back at 29% though that is up 1%pt from regular season.
Cavs moved from 21st on defensive efficiency in regular season to 5th best in playoffs. From 3rd best offense to best. Warriors go from 1st on offense / 2nd on D to the reverse places. Spurs from 9th on offensive efficiency, 1st on D in regular season to 3rd best offense, 7th best D. Celtics from 8th best offense, 13th best defense to 5th on offense, 4th on defense. Cavs with the most improvement, followed by Celtics. The other three better in playoffs than Celtics but the Spurs only marginally better on net rating (by a bit over 2 pts0. Of course the opponents are not equal in strength / performance.
At factor level the changes from regular season to playoffs are:
Warrriors 4 improved, 4 declined
Spurs 4 improved, 4 declined
Cavs 6 improved, 2 declined
Celtics 5 improved, 2 declined and one tie

yeah, the top 3 RS teams in 3fga/fga were in the 2nd round. The (8) 2nd round teams averaged .350 in RS, so that .341 is just a reflection of the success of long-range shooting teams, not that anyone is shooting more 3's in the PS.
How much of Cavs' super-play is LeBron super-LeBronning? His BPM is up from 8.4 to 11.1, and he's playing more minutes, so maybe he's kicking in another 3 Pts/G?
It's not Kyrie or Love. Just about everyone else, though.

Klay Thompson isn't doing much. Will that have to change at least in spots to win title? I'd think so. Will it?
Irving not doing anything special but way more than KT. Neither Thomas or Wall were "great" by the roll-up metrics. Horford was great (barely) but way better than those guys. Marcus Smart, barely ok. Jaylen Brown, pretty weak.
Avery Bradley overrated by some using game stats and eye tests (now and in past) at least compare to what roll-up metrics said in regular season asnd now even moreso in playoffs.
Harden missed the mark of what was needed from him to go further by a huge margin. Lots of on court and some off court questions.
Frye and D West, doing great in their roles.

2017 34.8 9.0 7.1 2.1 1.3
Per game averages. So far, so good.
In 2009, this incorporates two 4-0 sweeps and a one point loss (Orl) in which LeBron had 49-6-8-2-3, making 20 of 30 FG (3 treys); possibly his best game of that incredible run.
At that point, his FG% was .553 (.380 from three) and 13 FT per game (.739)
The last 5 games: FG% .444 (.258 on 3's) and 17 FTA at .762. Still 36-9-8, not good enough.

After a (for him) historically bad playoff game, LeBron slips off the top, falling 1/3 of the way thru the top 100 conference finals (by Game Score).
His 3.6 score was his lowest of the season, his 3rd worst PO game ever.
So here are updated rankings of current players in conf. finals of the last 34 years:

Poor Isaiah. His team went from a 107.5 DRtg after 2 rounds, to 114.5 after this debacle; and the effect is concentrated into his 56 minutes here.
The only player with even 30 postseason minutes and a worse WS rate was Ennis Whatley in 1987 -- it's almost undoable. Ennis shot .250, with 6 pts, 6 ast, and 8 TO, in 32 min.
Worse BPM have been recorded; but they all had either zero rebounds or assists, or a slew of turnovers. Isaiah shot 35%, 19-4-16 and 5 TO. Kind of surprised his PER got so derailed.

Listing everyone playing at least 10 mpg -- everyone else seems to be getting mostly garbage minutes -- and [not sure about] Jefferson.
