In either type of game, how is a last minute bucket more or less valuable than one in the first minute?

I'm somewhat thinking out loud here... say we have some kind of dramatic, god-like influence on an upcoming basketball game between your favorite team and my favorite team. One of us will get to choose the outcome of a shot taken by either team, and the other one will get to decide when it happens. The rest of the game is played neutrally by the actual players. Which one would you rather have? I feel like I would rather decide when.
