RAPM suggests Hickson went from horrendous on +/- to just bad this season. Did the Blazers actually get in some less visible way a maturing / improving player despite all the notes to the contrary or was it just a better context in Sacramento but not a better player?
Is Portland going to use him at center? If one were to take him, especially in Portland, that would seem like the better plan.
I don't know if I'd take him cheap for another trial, but I wouldn't pay him much and would have to see more improvement to keep him at all.
What does RAPM say about the value of coaches?

Best coaching performance this season- Thibs, Spo or some other joe?
Thibs and Spo both have actual team records exactly to "expected". Multi-year RAPM likes Thibs much much better but how much of that is context and how much is coaching performance?

Re: What does RAPM say about the value of coaches?
After 7 games with Portland, JJ Hickson is their 2nd best player (to Aldridge) in both PER and WS/48.
His TS% is .599 (from .416 in Sac), and he's tops in OReb% (11.3) now that Camby is gone...
Go figure!

Hickson with strong boxscore stats in Portland so far. Much better counterpart and team stats at center as I suggested but they are played him mostly at PF. Awful team results with him at PF. Not sure what his APM is in Portland. Probably not as good as boxscore stats. Again.
