My apologies Mike. I did not expect that to happen by merely adding a choice or know that it had. I thought adding him made sense and it hadn't been in the 2 weeks since the request. I guess I should have left it alone.

I think there was probably less than 6 votes. Mine was one of them, for Galinari (given the choices then and my perspective on who should be eligible for this level award) but that choice has been removed. Cosmic payback in an sense, maybe.

Lin has almost twice the per-minute improvement Monroe has; Monroe has 2.25 times the minutes.

Pekovic leads in the per minute improvement, and is 4th or 5th in VORP improvement. Jeff Teague leads that, but per minute is quite a ways back.

Russell Westbrook is currently 9th in the league in PER, 23.6, same as last year.
Per game, he's 5th in points, 8th in steals, 17th in assists. 2nd in Usg%
Merely 18th in Win Shares.

In the first installment of this thread, he was 3rd from the bottom; only Nelson and Martin below him.
On Jan 12, he's still in the bottom 10. A few days later, he's out of the bottom 15.
I've now got him in the 'most valuable' selection and concur he's back to last year's level.
Since mid-January, he's been a beast. Only LeBron and Kobe with more 20-5-5 games this year.

Gallinari has not been too hot lately. In 4 games, he totaled 18 points (29 attempts). A 1-9 and 1-10 before that.
In my book, he's now out of the top 50 improvers. On the Nuggets, 4th behind Harrington, Brewer, and Koufos.

Greg Monroe topped out at 2.00 eW/484 about a month ago. With no eW+ gain in the last week, he's been only as good as last year.

Jeremy Lin has fallen more drastically; but as long as he plays better than last year, he'll build his cumulative eW+

Basketball Reference's similarity tool only has one part-time center in Nene's top 10 "comps". Because of the way it is set up, I don't find it helpful. A player can be a completely different position and earn his value in completely different ways but if the overall winshare pattern over time is similar, they can get named a top comp.

Thanks, mike. Awesome info. Kinda fits with my initial reaction to the trade -- not liking it. Not because I think McGee or Young will become contributors at some point, but because the Wizards are buying the expensive decline portion of a nice-but-not-so-great career. Seems like a classic Wizards move.
