Thunder: Regular season overall to Spurs series comparison

Own
efg% ,561 / .497
to% 11.2 / 12.5
or% 22.3 / 25.6
FTr .213 / .223

Pace 99.3 / 96.2

Opp
efg% .519 / .512
to% .147 / ..138
dr% .744 / .696
FTr .184 / .252

3 factors improved, 5 declined.
On offense 2 - 2, defense 1 -3.

The 3 worst were own efg%,, dr% and opponent FTr. Opp TO% down slightly. Not worth the foul rate.

Coach Daigneault and Thunder effectively fully lost or nearly fully lost games 1 and 7 of Spurs series with just the first stint of the starting lineup.

Mara and Stirtz. Could had Graves, but I guess they felt Stirtz was a greater need.

On with the rest of roster adjustment.

Use 37th pick or not?

Thunder could have added a front court player at the trade deadline. Using Joe or Wiggins or draft capital. But didn't.

Thunder keep Isaiah Hartenstein on a slightly reduced annual number and are fairly close to getting under the second apron, which I'm sure is their goal this offseason. Do they let Lu Dort walk? Their second round pick is a Lu Dort style player. Conversely they could also opt out and resign Dort at a lower number or sign and trade him for someone with a lower number. I'm guessing they do not retain Kenrich Williams, at least at the current number for the team option.

Remember they have Thomas Sorber who is a injured rookie last year who will supply some additional front court strength.

The reconfiguring seems half over, for this summer. Topic is another case. The 2way slots aren't full and they could be traded.

This will be an annual process. Retaining Wallace and / or Mitchell (and others later) likely will require at least review of Caruso and JDub and Hartenstein and others.

At some point, secret consideration of moving SGA might occur. I am starting to look at that timeline.

SGA has a player option in 2030-31 season (at age 32) for about $76 million.

Does he stay past summer 2029?

Thunder don't do what they done without completing the task. One way or another. Soon or later.

Hadn't thought much about trading Cason Wallace but it is possible. Can't see them paying market rate for him.

Wallace is a weak rebounder with low assists for a guard. His efg%, ts% and 3ot fg% have fallen yr to yr to yr and are well below league average. His FT rate is about half of league average. His BPM has risen to +1.2 because of defense, including steals. His Darko is slightly higher.
