Lakers executed in trade market. Still to be determined if they really are 1st or 2nd tier in west. Will watch the lineup data.

One NBA paper finalist at Sloan.

This is what I took from it on quick browse:

"Center position offers the least risk per unit of return, whereas the Point
Guard position is the relative riskiest per unit..."

PGs more than twice as much variation in return than Centers. PFs almost as steady / good return as Cs, wings in between but a bit closer to the bigs.

Keegan Murray seems unlikely to get a big extension and be forced to restricted free agency or traded to me. LaRavia could be a replacement if the price is right.

LeBron season to date: lowest FT rate of career, highest assist rate, lowest BPM since rookie year.

Indiana Pacers

4 of 6 most used lineups negative.

Top lineup is great and used about 8 minutes per game.

Nothing else over 2 minutes per game. Only 5 over 1 minute per game for season.

315 lineups used.

Pairs within Haliburton, Turner and Mathurin are very mild positives.

Siakam and Nembhard pairs are strongest, including with Turner.

All 14 most used Toppin pairs are negative.

8 of 11 Walker pairs are negative and 1 neutral.

9 of 12 McConnell pairs are negative or only mildly positive.

9 of 10 most used Nesmith pairs are positive and the other is a mild negative.

The most used trios are positive but heavily performed by the next 6, all of which had Nembhard while none of the 4 most used did.

The 6 most used quads are all positive, all but one strongly. But something is getting lost with 5 man completions.

First draft 10 lineup rotation sketched up this morning. 10 players. Built off strong trios. More time, more refinement.

Just 2 games in but Doncic with Lakers is a -9 BPM with lowest ts%, defensive rebound rate, assist and highest turnover rate of career. Better is coming. The average to be determined.

Every 1st round series in west should be competitive with decent chance of an upset somewhere. 7-10 play in will be too.

In east, it is mainly about the 4-5 matchup in 1st round.

Just 3 games but also on Doncic with Lakers:

Ppg half of previous
Highest 3pta rate, lowest FT rate
21% 3pt fg%
58% FT%
Lowest stock rate
Still -9 BPM.

Paul George in Philly is disappointing but only -0.4 BPM.

Strong game 4 pulls Doncic up to -1 BPM with Lakers. Pretty long way to playoffs. Will be interesting.

Rockets 3-8 on last 11. I'll look into it closer.

Sabonis with his lowest points game since November 2021. Coincides with big game by LaVine. February is his worst month of season by offensive, defensive and net individual ratings. If that continues, the Sabonis era will have changed notably or might be coming to an end.

Wonder what happens with Brissett.

Poor numbers in G league but that may or may not mean much. Strong in last playoffs.
