Player/Team Evaluations

Many of you have been very kind to me by creating spreadsheets for me to plug in numbers. As we approach our off-season player meetings I want to know what everyone here would discuss with their players--both as a way to validate coaching decisions and to motivate players to improve. Here is what I am going to use:

1--EFG%
2--TS%
3--USAGE
5--Ind. PPP (is it really as simple as the team formula without offensive rebounds???)
6--assist 5
7--TO%
8--ORB/DRB% ( to do this I need their individual possessions correct? again--not exactly sure on the best formula to figure this out--there seems to be debate)
9--Efficiency--thanks again to those of you that have given me some forumlas to use

**Adjusted plus/minus--is there a way to calculate this on the collegiate level. After each game I break down the plus/minus of each lineup we use--now how can I translate that to the adjusted format everyone seems to believe is better. To me this might be the most important thing we do? To be able to show each player their numbers when on the court.

THANKS AGAIN--I am looking for the ultimate evaluators to use with our team and players to produce a data driven approach to coaching!

I think I created all the spreadsheets for you; but if someone else supplied some, great.

I won't repeat what I said in the usage thread.

On assists, they are nice but you also want to know if the overall lineup is performing efficiently with the high or low assist guy. Some guys with high assists might be turning the ball over too much or monopolizing the ball too much. You could also look at lineup performance when you have 2-3 decent to good passers vs just one.

On ORB/DRB% there are different degrees of precision and different levels of data gathering and processing required. The simpler of the established methods is probably good enough to give guidance.
