I am a head High School Basketball coach. I am new to the site and I am also a math teacher. I have always been a big fan of the reflection of statistics in the game, and how it pertains to success. I am starting to develop my own formulas to use in a database to determine starters and also for use in moving players from Varsity to J.V. and etc...
What are your thoughts and ideas?
Thanks,
Bryan Coltrane

I'd suggest reading 50, 200 or all of the threads here, then ask the one, three, five biggest questions you have and take it from there.

There have been some other high school and college coaches who have briefly stopped by here. You could browse past threads to find them or maybe search by the phrase "high school" or "coaching".
here are a few:

You might also consider talking to Ian Levy here or at his site

Usually the exchange has been limited. Often the coaches ask for pretty general help and not many folks jump to guess what might help. If you have specific questions that is the best bet but it is still challenging to generate discussion, especially in the off-season.
One of the past threads had a link to a site where coaches talk to coaches.
http://www.hoopcoach.org/ That might work better.
