Lots of teams will have lots of cap room in next 1-3 years. If you were a generic GM or a GM of a particular team which free agents stars / role players would you target and realistically have a shot to get within the salary cap or not much more? You can name all the players you want but the top 3-4 likely would be the most interesting to talk about.

Aldridge is likely a key name for this discussion. Guys like Wall probably are retained by current team. Of course there is James, Wade and Bosh and maybe a few other older payers who will be considered but in general I would target guys 26 and under (as of now). I would not make Carmelo a top target unless he was the best a particular team could hope for. Obviously lots of folks will eventually talk a lot about Durant, Westbrook, Griffin, Love, Horford, Irving and George. Not sure there are that many more names to make a major fuss about.


Over last 6 playoffs, every title winner has had at least one .200+ winshares per 48 minutes player in the regular season and an average of 1.5.

But it is also worth noting than about 85% of player seasons with winshares per 48 minutes in this period failed to be accompanied by the title victory.
