Strictly by their shooting, deduced by simply subtracting points and attempts from their teams', players whose shots have most affected their teams' shooting%.
I'm using eff% = Pts/(2*FGA + FTA). The difference (column 1) should be about the same as with TS%.
Players on the left might be labeled Should Shoot More, on the right Should Shoot Less.

Bargnani and Anthony combine to raise the Knicks' shooting by .014. Without their shots, the rest of the team is shooting .478
Brook Lopez, if he hadn't missed 7 of the Nets' 15 games, would be near the top of this list.
Similarly, JR Smith has done his damage to the Knicks in just 9 of their 14 games.
Duncan is shooting at least .110 worse than anyone else of the Spurs' top 9 players.
With most teams, DWade would be on the other side of the ledger.

Is Anthony Bennett the worst #1 pick of all time? His PER is 2.3, his ws/48 is minus-.138 ...

It's changed a bit in a week. For one thing, poor shooters are having less impact. They're either shooting better or just shooting less.

If one had RAPM factor data including for estimated impact on team eFG%, one could subtract the direct impact on team eFG% from the total estimated team eFG% RAPM factor impact to deduce the indirect impact. An additional level of information and an old idea of mine (previously using the terminology of local and global factors or impacts that did not appear to gain much understanding or interest years ago). I wonder how many teams do this currently, if any. Of course error in the estimates will cloud things some and in a minority of cases by a large amount) but overall it will give modestly accurate hints about the outliers who hurt or help team eFG% the most indirectly. Players may mostly influence team eFG% directly and indirectly in the same direction but there could be cases where they offset more than commonly thought. It is probably better to have these additional hints or even just questions then to not have them, IMO. If one is really serious about the data analysis.

Quick glance, two things I find funny:

1. Brandon Jennings was a a pretty big negative a year ago - but for now he's a pretty big positive. He ain't gonna stay a positive - I think we all know that.

2. What in the world happened to Speights? It appears he was horrible exactly a year ago - but this season he has been a pretty effective offensive weapon in his limited minutes. Was he dealing with some injuries early last season?
