Do you believe that a superstar can improve his teams efficiency by trading off 2 or 3 of his worst shots and passing it to teammates? Watching LeBron play, I believe its possible that a superstar can increase his teams offensive efficiency if he focused on creating shots more and picking his spots.

Right now LeBron's FGA per game is 16.1 with a .672 TS% (122 O rating). His previous 3 years in Miami was 18.5 (31.2 usg%) with a .613 TS% (120 O rating). His last 3 years in Cleveland were 20.6 FGA (33.6 usg%) with a .587 TS% (120 O rating).

If a superstar not in a situation like Kobe 06 or AI 01 were to decrease his usg% from around 32-35% to 27-30%, would that be better for the team?

Average usage in playoffs for top usage guy on last 8 title winners is right at 30% with not much variation.

Only one guy with a top 25 regular season usage rate since 1980 won a title that season (Jordan in 92-93).

Only one guy with a top 20 playoff usage rate since 1980 won a title that season (Jordan 3 times). Then Kobe, Jordan again and Olajuwon were in 21st, 22nd and 24th places.
