Updating countthebasket.com directory?

Anyone willing to update that directory to cover all the new relevant links from the last few years?
This would be a fine service and one way to get some visibility / recognition within the media / analytic communities.

I wouldn't mind hosting that on the website I am working on. However, I am personally not familiar with all of the sites and fear that I would leave a lot out. I know that most of the work would be the compilation, but if someone could assist me with that I am willing to attempt to maintain it.

I'd be willing to note sites here not on the count the basket list as I see them if you proceed. I imagine others would too. One place to start would be look at linkage thread here. If you establish a new directory and add some new sites to it I will definitely help you find more.

Ok. I am planning on keep them organized in my database. It will take some time to set up the table and get the current records in there. Once that is done, I can work on the .NET code to display them on my website. Do you have any recommendation on how to categorize the links? Should I use the same categorization as used on countthebasket?

Crow - I am trying to send you a PM but it just stays in my outbox. If you could send me your contact info, there is some stuff I would like to share with you.

I believe PMs stay in outbox until opened. I just saw the second message and replied with contact info.

Thank you for undertaking this project. It will benefit many. I will help as I can.

The categorization at countthebasket.com seemed ok. There might be a new category or two.

I've done a quick look around for new links. I'll get them to you fairly soon.

If anyone else has or knows of another good list of links, especially new sites within the last 5+ years, please mention where it is or mention the links themselves. I know there are more good analytic blogs out there now and some are little known and could more visibility.

Any reason the Links thread here shouldn't just incorporate all this ?

I believe mine( hoopsnerd.com ) would qualify under

Advanced Stats: "Various" &/or "Linear Weights" and in the future "Similarity Scores" (not yet though)

Analysis: "Articles" &/or "Blogs"

Other Leagues: "NCAA advanced stats", "NCAA blogs" &/or "NCAA articles"

You should also add www.hoop-math.com under "NCAA advanced stats"

Add www.valueaddbasketball.com under the same.

godismyjudgeok.com/DStats under probably about all the same ones as I listed for my site.

I think the last two and my site are the only ones that rank all D1 players using analytics. If anyone knows any others - I'd love to know about them.

I suggest when this restructuring is about done - we should all hit up Twitter and let our analytics minded friends/followers know. People will know it's a quality resource again (not outdated), and we'll probably learn of even more relatively unknown sites to add from the responses.

Thanks Statman for the links mentioned (I added them to the data entry list) and the willingness to promote nileriver's end product.
