Average number of refereeing errors and omissions per game?

I have seen what I would consider a fairly high number of refereeing errors and omissions per game in the playoffs, aided by instant replays. It caused me to wonder and now ask how many refereeing errors and omissions are there per game? This poll asks for opinions about which level of imperfection in refereeing we see on average. Because rules do not appear to be enforced to the strict letter of the law, one could just counts errors and omissions from the accepted norm rather than the strictest standard but interpret it as you think it should be done.

Has Mark Cuban ever put a number on this? Has he ever released any NBA documents on their official review of referring performance? Will we ever see anything official? (I am assuming not.) Has any media person or researcher done such a study?

I put in 11-20. This includes a lot of "could have gone either way" calls and non-calls. Count them each as 1/2 of a missed call.
Refs miss calls just as players miss free throws. Normally, you do the right thing; and inevitably, as you get more opportunities, you will miss a few.

I read recently that a team's level of play in a game depends strongly on how far ahead/behind they are. I wonder how big a part of that reffereeing is, as I would think refs favor the trailing team. Seems like a question that could be answered relatively easily with a play-by-play database.
