NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
Is Jordan the only one to win both with the provision of the NBA title being as the #1 or 2 star since 1988? Did I miss someone? What does that say about NCAA as training ground for NBA champ-leaders, the difference between the leagues or anything else? Seems unexpected and worth mentioning.
Re: NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
Mario Chalmers won a title in both leagues
Re: NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
Ok, that is good to know as well. But he wasn't an NBA #1 or 2 star-champ.
Re: NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
NBA stars who led a title team since since 88:
Isiah
MJ
Hakeem
Duncan
Shaq
Wallace/Wallace/Billups/Hamilton
Wade
KG
Kobe
Dirk
LeBron
Very small list. A good portion of those guys didn't even attend college (Kobe, LeBron, KG, Dirk). There doesn't seem to be a star who won it all in college since Magic did it.

Re: NCAA & NBA championsip winning stars
The list is twice as long if you include all #2s but with 52 possible player seasons just one player match (for multiple times). I am aware of the high schoolers and think that is something worth noting here and for the general best place for young player development debate. Will we start to see more dual winner / star leaders without straight from high school guys or the imposition of 20 yrs old or two years out of hs?
will we see a young int'l league winner direct to NBA guy?

Have you checked to see if any main contributors on a NBA title team (starting 5 or rotation player) won a NCAA title as the man in recent memory?Crow wrote:The list is twice as long if you include all #2s but with 52 possible player seasons just one player match (for multiple times). Antoine Walker and Richard Hamilton come to mind but no I haven't gone down that road in depth yet. I did check all the players who'd meet the criteria I laid out that I could think of.
