I will serve as the Coordinator of a soon-to-be-introduced Mensa Special Interest Group (SIG) focusing on sports (joining the list of existing Mensa SIGs found here: http://www.us.mensa.org/connect/sigs/sig-listing/). It will provide an opportunity for sports-crazed Mensans to network, discuss innovations and analytics advances in sports, compete (for pride only) in fantasy leagues and prediction pools, and otherwise engage in sophisticated water-cooler talk about sports.

Would it be correct to assume that one must chose to join Mensa, prove qualification, then join this SIG?

Hope you can make it what you want it to be.

Just curious, were you reasonably satisfied with the participation generated by your one thread here? Was there no topic you were motivated to discuss here in last 2 years or did you just have sufficient outlets elsewhere? How about going forward? An answer is of course completely at your discretion, if you think it is worthwhile.

Thanks for your reply. At this time, I don't plan to require Mensa membership as a prerequisite for membership in the SIG (tentatively named M-Sports Fans), but we'll see how things evolve over time.

I enjoyed and appreciate the discussion here at APBR about improving late-game quality and style of play in basketball, but I'm looking forward to generating discussion about a variety of topics related to a variety of sports.
