Career PER?

Hi,

I'm a stats geek from South Korea.
I have calculated some metrics such as PER, WS and TS%, etc for Korean Basketball League (KBL) by myself.

KBL provides only box score stats, they don't provide stats in detail even play-by-play data.
So there is difficulty to calculate.

I have a lot of questions related to metrics.
My biggest questions is 'How to calculate career PER'?

I'm looking forward to your answer.

I imagine it's minute-weighted like other advanced metrics. You'd take each season's PER and multiply it by that season's ( Minutes Played÷ Player's Career Minutes Played) and do this for each season to get a career total. For example, let's say a this is a player's 3 year career totals:

2012-13 1928 MP, 19.4 PER
2013-14 2131 MP, 22.6 PER
2014-15 2044 MP, 21.8 PER

6103 Career MP, so:

(19.4 × (1928/6103)) + (22.6 × (2131/6103)) + (21.8 × (2044/6103)) = 21.321153531

21.3 Career PER

It means how to calculate PER of guys who was traded during season is same?

It's minute-weighted metric, right?

If it is, it is very difficult for me because the league doesn't provide the team stats in detail.

Thanks.

You're league averages wouldn't change, just your team values, which I believe would be what the team values of each team were while player was with each team. Those two PER's would then get minute-weighted to give you a year end total. You would need some team stats to get each of those Hollinger PER values.
