They dumped DeanO (I hope he had a guaranteed contract and took a few extra years salary with him for having to deal with that roller coaster), and took in Roland. Who's next from this board for the Kings to hire?
I was shocked Dallas let Roland leave, not sure how any of that worked. Cuban seems to me very much like a guy who will fall in love with analytics, and then just as easily fall out of love with analytics. I could be completely off on that assertion - it's just how it seems from my distant perspective.

Maybe Mr Cuban just feels there's a diminishing return when you have picked one person's brain for a while.
They say that about coaches, too -- after a while, the players have heard most of what one person can say.

I'm thinking you are the right track there with how Cuban's brain might work.

Statman, DeanO landed a great gig and Kings would have had to pay him for a while if he hadn't

I assume Roland wanted to get back to the Bay area.
In promoting James Brocato, Mavs give bigger role to someone who has shown interest in adjusted plus minus, as they had previously with Wayne Winston's input.

Really, where is DeanO working now?
I'm glad the Kings would have had to pay him if he hadn't landed on his feet - that organization handled that & many other things poorly from my perspective.
