Latest post it up on my website, looking at the old trick of trying to "ICE" a free throw shooter. The Warriors do it REALLY smart.

This might be the case, but with the sample sizes being so small, I don't think it proves anything. Can you go back a few years (10-15) to get more data? 10-20 free throws don't prove anything.

I agree that the sample size is smaller by only using this seasons data, but i do think its presents some early trends that the Warriors and Pacers are exploring, especially in terms of calling a timeout between free throws which I have never observed before watching basketball. The Warriors are obviously doing this for a reason and from what this seasons data shows is that they are predominantly using it in the 4th quarter when the game is close. They have been blowing teams out so regularly that they really haven't had to use it as a strategy, it will be interesting to track the rate of use come playoff time for them as we would expect and hope for some closer games in that period.

I'll go back through previous seasons as suggested to get more data, it will be interesting to see how frequent the in between free throw timeout has been called previously, as I said I can't recall seeing it. I do think this seasons data highlights vulnerable players who have had 10+ attempts when a timeout is called before they shoot either free throw and their ft%'s are down quite a bit.
