Other ways to slice player data

Folks look at individual player data trends over time. Occasionally someone will compute position averages but I don't recall seeing much about positional trends. Other more aggressive analytic options might be to look at positional averages and trends for coaches and GMs over time and compared to each other. Elite teams vs. rest. East / west. New coach or GM vs. vet. Assumed analytic leaders vs. probably not. Relative quality by position and stat detail including usage. Awareness of your own trends vs goals would be helpful as would understanding other teams to predict draft and free agency biases and help identify trade possibilities better.
And it might even be worth looking at players by agent for the top 5-10 agents. First contract, contract year, year after next contract and for full second and third contracts. Are there trends about who is more box score vs. RPM productive, more selfish vs team and when it tends to happen? Might not want to give a lot of weight to any trends here but better to check and consider than not.
How many teams have done any or all of this?
