What do people think about Frye's potential to be an X-factor? He ranked 23rd in the NBA in RPM at +3.5, but was basically a non-factor for the Cavs in the regular season since he joined the team so late in the year. There's reason to believe that stat isn't a total fluke since he ranked 11th in the league in RPM two years ago. And of course, he's been on fire in the playoffs, for what it's worth. Naively, replacing 30 minutes of Thompson (+0.8 RPM) and Mozgov (-4.0 RPM) with 30 minutes of Frye could make the Cavs a truly elite team, although probably still a full notch behind the Warriors. Thoughts?

Frye missed his only FGA, got 2 FT and 1 Reb. The Cavs were +4 in his 7:10, -4 w Thompson (31 min) -- apparently
-15 in the other 10 min (w neither).
In the first 3 rounds, Thompson/Mozgov total +75 in 412 min., or +8.7 pts per 48.
Frye saw +71 in 204 min, or +16.7/48
The disparity holds for all playoff opponents so far, so it isn't just a random matchup advantage.
EDIT: It's as if Cle decided to go beyond an 8-man rotation, and Frye was on deck.
He's more important since Delli has tanked. < He may just kamikaze @ Draymond -- the guy who neutralized LeBron, as did Livingston.

Dismal is too mild a word to describe the Cavs' performance. Last night, their "best" plus-minus was with Kevin Love, who bailed before the bottom totally fell out. Ranked by raw +/- per 48 minutes over 2 games:

Are the Cavs being
less dominated in the frontcourt, while the Dubs'
guards are having their way with their eastern counterparts?
Or is it more/also that the
smaller both teams play, the more it favors GS?
Historical reminder: the 2005 Finals went like this:

These were the top 2 defensive teams in the league. Add 10 points and it could be GS/Cle.

Can Curry win a Finals mvp? He's tied with Draymond in eWins, trails in VORP; behind also Barnes, Iggy, and Livingston in WS.
LeBron easily leads all participants in VORP and eWins; just 3rd on the Cavs in WinShares.

Spurs, Cavs are very tough teams but Warriors and Spurs get away with a lot BS moving screens, holding, and non calls on their D play.
