Im confused on Nash overall impact on the Suns. RAPM loves him and he is usually rated among the best. But when you look at BPM, VORP, and sometimes WS/48, it seems like Amare and Marion were making more of an impact than Nash was. Is Nash underrated by the box score? or does box score gives you a better look on Nash overall impact?

Writers and fans thnk he is a top 5 point guard all-time but when you look at his metrics he doesnt look like he is providing that level of impact. What do you think?

RAPM doesn't rely on boxscore stats. For Nash, one of the big ones is assists. But his assists are under-counted in Phx, as Suns' scorekeepers were especially reluctant to grant Ast in those years.

Home Ast typically run a few % higher at home (relative to FG) vs on the road. In Phx, everyone in the league got lower Ast/FG during the Nash years.

If you could re-run his BPM, WS, etc with his road-only Ast rates, you might get a more consistent version of those stats. Maybe it doesn't make up the whole difference with RAPM, but partly.

For his career, Nash got 8.7 Ast/G on the road vs 8.3 at home.

In 2007-08, it was 10.2 in home games and 12.2 in away games.
