Re: Thunder lineup analysis and other commentary
2/3rds of minutes given to 5 most used lineups so far in playoffs. I'd do that or close to that in regular season too. I take this as justification for concentration. Starter minutes are decent but could be higher or much higher. Next biggest lineup immediately jumps to SGA and 4 bench and lots of o...

Re: 2026 championship contention
There is rough agreement on who 3 of the top teams are. I added the Pistons and Nuggets, BRef has Pistons but not Nuggets, you have Nuggets not Pistons. Some difference how much chance other teams have. Will see which predictions have most share alive in conference finals. Not the same as who wins t...

Re: What hasn't been done in basketball analysis?
Correlation between numbers of analytic staff listed at nbastuffer and assistant coach & player development staff at BRef is a mild 0.21. Ast. Coaches outnumber analytics staff by 72% leaguewide. Hawks have largest edge to coaches at +10. Thunder have biggest edge in count to analysts at +4. Inf...

Re: Houston Rockets
Only 2 playoff games but 7 of 10 most used lineups are awful to horrendous. 3 positives are strong but only given 19 total minutes. 7 players. All had Thompson / Eason. 2 of KD, Smith and Sengun. Then Sheppard or Okogie. 28 lineups used so far, just 6 positive. I'd increase lineup concentration mass...

Re: 2026 Rookies
SGs by far the most numerous and have the lowest median. Only 3 centers in tankathon's 1st round and it may end up less actually coming to the NBA. College seems to be valuing typical centers more than NBA.Mata probabky comes out but still waiting to find out. Not sure what GMs think of Ware. Spo is...

Re: Coaching RAPM (& more splits and variations)
Top 7 actives here are all defensive biased. Only Atkinson is a significant 2 way positive in that group. Would still be interested in playoffs with a regular season prior or overall with playoffs given a much higher weight and perhaps escalated further by playoff round. Only 5 of top 55 listed have...

Re: 2026 Rookies
Only 5 of the 13 bigs taken by GMs first or second have been strong. Usually too much focus on scoring over defense.
I had 7 of 8 bigs who were first or second rated here since 2020 high on my draft boards, as high or higher than consensus.

Re: Warriors lineup management
My take on Warriors reset: Let Kerr go. Probably hire the best assistant coach under 45. Trade Green or let him walk. 25% turnover and negative BPM is too much to continue. Darko and TimeDecay RAPM are neutral but that isn't good value and they need a new design. Trade Podziemski for a front court p...

Re: 2026 Rookies
Small sample but 9 is 50% more than 6. The only over-representation. Had modest interest in checking and finding that, given a fairly common dismissal of centers in the mainstream in recent times. I have gotten a moderate amount of flak on twitter over the years for ranking centers / bigs high on dr...

Re: 2026 Rookies
Centers, greatly more than proportional representation in top 2s. PGs about proportional if combo guards are included. Light on wings and fowards.
