Re: European and global league possibilities

Competition for new young Europeans between all the leagues and potential leagues and including NCAA will be intense. Who offers the most money, the most desirable context, the most minutes? Will competition for young Americans also heat up? The competition will continue and probably increase for Am...

Re: European and global league possibilities

Mark Tatum said "The reason we are doing this is not primarily commercial." About providing resources and growing the game. Yeah, right. It was all about the commercial opportunity when Adam Silver introduced it and teased it to NBA owners, European teams and investors. JP Morgan is who yo...

Re: 2025-26 team win projection contest

I would side with offering / making no adjustments of entries. Submittal by first tip-off is obviously preferred but requests for "it was hectic / tough for me" slightly late entry by 3pm Eastern Wednesday would not be rejected imo unless there is some major altering event today and advant...

Re: European and global league possibilities

ASVEL facing being kicked put of Euroleague next season or voluntary leaving. Can't or won't spend the $5.8 million minimum on salary. 20% below and probably still losing money. That is one slice of the current commercial reality. A side note as extremely unlikely to be asked to join NBA Europe or d...

Re: European and global league possibilities

NBA Europe, Euroleague, international tour league... commercial growth & success with depend heavily on how many $1+ mil, $3 mil, $5 mil players they can attract, pay, keep. Either alternative to Euroleague should plan on stealing players from Euroleague AND recruiting American players better th...

Re: European and global league possibilities

Euroleague could easily go to 24-28 teams as a competitive league strategy for fan attention and loyalty. Might be bad financially. If they actively take on new minority or majority owners, they might be able to handle it for awhile. But would it work long-term? What the European market can produce ...

Re: European and global league possibilities

AS Monaco GM Oleksiy Yefimov:

"There are no concrete figures or models presented that could demonstrate how a new league would truly revolutionize revenue generation, fanbase growth, or the overall attractiveness and monetization of European basketball..."

Re: European and global league possibilities

If NBA Europe takes 6 or less Euroleague teams, the Euroleague almost certainly continues as competition with probable new additions and could conceivably include brand new teams. If they take 10, maybe EuroLeague becomes lesser or regional or possibly disappears, but I doubt it, at least in short-t...

Re: European and global league possibilities

City choices for NBA Europe have been hinted at but are not clear cut. London and Manchester? Deep pocket buyers are potentially available and are the imperative but do they get them and do those cities work for basketball? Plenty of room to doubt. Paris? Inevitable but who gets it and do they get e...

Re: European and global league possibilities

British basketball chaos deepens.

Euroleague coaches don't want change.

Positive news? ...

Just repetitive surface design talk.

Re: Crafted PM by age band

Examples of -1s on CraftedPM? Schroder, Sochan, Yabusele. Examples of -2s? E Payton, M Christie, Biyombo. Play -1s if you don't have betters. Really avoid -2s if trying hard to win. -1.0s are about median. Median would be about 9th best on an average team. -2.0s are bottom 25th percentile or about 1...

Re: Thunder lineup analysis and other commentary

C Wallace, worst on raw team +/- at -25 pts / 48 min in pres-season? Lousy shooting. Curious.

Brief survey of impact by age band.

Young guys hurt on average, thru age 28. With exceptions of course.
