Could you explain how the age factor works here? i'm struggling with that value vs. perhaps a peak career value. Are you wanting to look at this from an accounting/finance aspect or winning down the road? If economics comes into it as other have said the market is going to have a huge swing. Seems like a question where the definitions of success need to be well established upfront.

I think that thread somewhat takes on the response to my question or perhaps a cause effect? A team that often drops down with a player who responds by playing differently. it doesn't look at if the coaching staff or play talents create the situations.
