Re: Power Ranking
Regarding Franchise-by-Franchise HCA. I wonder if opponent's travelling times/distances could be accounted for, along the lines of http://weaksideawareness.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/distance-traveled-by-nba-teams-during-a-season/ Philly, Boston and New York are geographically very close so it doesn't...

Re: On sticky topics...
Thanks for posting the screenshot. Turns out there are two themes for this board and only subsilver displays those icons (and not prosilver which I was viewing it in by default). I've changed over.
Weird.

Re: putting some math to the problem of shot selection
Assuming I'm correct there, why would you wish to include plays beginning with offensive rebounds when trying to determine the optimal time to shoot? Surely on a possession beginning directly under the offensive basket, the logical move would be to put the ball straight back up. Wouldn't this skew ...

Re: On sticky topics...
Aha. I see it now. I still think the "STICKY: " preface would improve readability though.
While we're on the topic, what triggers the animated icon (looks like scrolling posts)? Is it an indicator of recent popularity?

Re: putting some math to the problem of shot selection
(For the third and I promise last time: I'm new, so please be kind in your responses) Am I missing something? How can points per shot with 24 seconds (rounded up, so thus between 23.01 and 24 seconds on the clock) be at least 0.8? The only way I can see this occurring is on a put-back/tip in? Assumi...

Re: On sticky topics...
Hello. Still new so still be nice to me  Just a quick point. Wouldn't it make sense to preface sticky topic titles with "STICKY: "? eg. "STICKY: APBR-the historian's discussion board ". I ask because the top three topics remain there without new posts (and, thus I presume, h...

Re: Methodology for Measuring Franchise Success?
Hello :) Thanks for replying. Your analysis is obviously much deeper than mine but I thought I'd share what I'd tabulated over the past couple of hours. I know these won't display correctly  but the following is a list of times teams finished with regular season records in the Top through bott...

Methodology for Measuring Franchise Success?
Hello! I'm new. Be nice ;) After reading Evanz post calling for the Warriors to enact a scorched-earth policy (http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2011/6/25/2243499/where-to-next-an-alternative-vision-of-the-warriors-long-term-future), I was wondering how you guys would measure/rank the relative succes...
