NBA League Office Job Posting: Head of Basketball Analytics

I'd like to introduce myself, I am Ken DeGennaro from the NBA League office. Along with Alan Lambe, we oversee the Statistics and Basketball Analytics team here at the NBA. The Head of Basketball Analytics position has opened up and we wanted to see if anyone would be interested. I have seen other opportunities posted on the board, so we felt it was appropriate to post on this forum. The position is located in the NY/NJ area (Secaucus NJ and NYC). It is a full time position with great salary, benefits, etc.

The candidate will serve as the NBA’s lead of basketball analytics – an expert in the use of analytics as it pertains to the game of basketball. In this role, the candidate will serve as a liaison between the NBA and the NBA teams in addition to media partners. The candidate will be required to be an expert in the various statistical tools available to the basketball analytics community. The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with external users of the NBA’s statistical products. The candidate will also be responsible for leading the research and analysis used to reinforce trends and storylines within the game of basketball.
