Draft pool

Is there any source which has all players listed in the draft pool for previous drafts? I mean not just a list of players who were drafted, but also the list of players who went undrafted. It should also not be limited to early entries.

Draft Express has stats from previous years. Not sure how far back their database goes, but they cover most of the prospects. One annoyance is that if you search their database by top 100 prospects, it works ONLY for the current year. I tried to get data on the top 100 prospects from a couple years ago, and it gave me only guys who are in this year's draft.

http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/ Has college stats going back for a number of years. There are some holes in the data, but it's the best source I've found for college numbers.

Now a question of my own. Does anyone know of a source for shooting by distance stats for the NCAA? I'm looking for something similar to what Hoopdata does for the NBA.

If you run this google search- early entry list +draftexpress and browse it or also put in the date as well (2011, 2010, 2009, etc.) you can find draftexpress articles going back to 2005.


Draftexpress created space for NCAA shot location data but didn't fill it. The person who created much or all of their database but is no longer associated with it indicated plans to create a new database of his own but I don't immediately recall his name or exact intentions (NCAA or NBA). If you want to follow that slight lead you might search for and contact him. Or others with known capability to code to extract play by play data.

If someone can help me out with the Insider-Stuff and could just copy&paste the Top100 for each of the available years into a textfile, it would be awesome.

Early entries make up a large share of the draft pool, especially those who go undrafted. Combined with looking at the actual draft you might only be missing a few seniors and automatic eligible internationals.
