NBA to make database available next season

I wasn't aware that the NBA was working on this; sounds like the data will be somewhat but not completely similar to what's available already. I guess my biggest question is how many years back the data will go.

I looked at and offered suggestions on something like this maybe 3 years ago. They have more capabilities at their disposable than the article indicates they're going to be making public.
