Years til Lakers are back in NBA finals?

How long til they at least get back to that accustomed place? Will it be with or without Kobe? Should they plan for it being without?

I see very little chance that Kobe gets back to finals with Lakers any time soon. I don't expect LeBron to come to LA to help him. He might come to LA later and work with Durant or others.

No proper rebuild until Kobe is gone, so certainly more than three from where I'm sat.

Some questions related to trying to fix the Lakers right now:

Will the Lakers play a lot of two PG lineups? Which one will be best?
Will the Lakers move from just average on team assists to very good or elite?

Will the Lakers effectively replace their lost 3 pt FGAs?
Will the Lakers fall from one of the teams with the most FTAs all the way to one with the least?
How will the Lakers move up from allowing the clear most FGAs last season with Howard to better without him?
Will they do better than force the 2nd least TOs?

Did any of their acquisitions help with these issues?

Will Kobe play more SF? Will Nick Young?
Will Wesley Johnson play any PF? Will he rebound even half-decent?
Will Ryan Kelly he ready to play 15-25 minutes per game?
Will Hill play any / much C?

Will Meeks play as much? Any role at all for Ebanks?

Is everyone on the roster fair game to be talked about at the trade deadline, with or without a shot at the 8th seed? (Acknowledging that Kobe has no clause clause to block unwanted action for himself.)

Could be a long long time. I assume the biggest way for the Lakers to turn around quickly, is to get a FA combination in 14/15, like of Melo/Rondo + one of Love/Aldridge. However I'd hardly expect that to make them a likely Finals team

Fredo is in charge now so I could see them running ship like Dolan's Knicks. Lots of overpaid/overrated big name players, trading away draft picks, little asset management, etc.
