Coaching + Analytics Opportunity

Post by HSCoachNH »

This post is admittedly a longshot, for a number of reasons, but I am looking to go outside the box with my hire of a lead varsity boys' basketball assistant at a suburban high school in southern New Hampshire. Our season runs from November 25th through as late as March 13th. I am willing to consider anyone with a passion for modern data-based basketball analysis to help implement all aspects of our program during a 21-game high school season. The portfolio is customizable in a variety of areas.

More details if there happen to be any available candidates who live in the southern NH, western NH, or southeastern VT.

Please respond via e-mail if potentially interested. MikeMitchNH@gmail.com.

Regards,
mike

You never know, might be that much of a longshot here. If I lived in that area (I'm in the DFW area in Texas), there is a good chance I'd apply (probably no matter the pay) - I've had this inner desire to start coaching at the HS level. I'm sure there are tons of analytics guys like myself that played basketball their whole lives who never really got into the coaching side (despite "knowing" the game from an analytics sense and from playing), but the desire slowly burns.

Good luck with that coaching search.

Mike,

I wished I lived up that way, so I could apply for the job. I am curious to know why you are searching for an analytically minded coach? I stumbled into my own coaching system almost by accident, by trying to reduce conflicts over playing time in an industrial league. I made the system public and would be curious to know what you think of it.

Here's a paper.
