Kevin Durant's historic season

Post by Mike G »

After 51 games, Durant has the highest WS/48 in any season since 1972.
PER is included for corroboration; seasons before complete boxscore stats (<1978) are marked, as are ongoing (2014) seasons.

Is Durant destined to be -- or already -- one of the 5 greatest players ever?

Duran't rather modest 5.2 Assists per 36 min. translates to an Ast% of 26.4. He scores a lot of points relative to the rest of his team. It's reminiscent of Hill or McGrady, when they were doing it all in Detroit and Orlando.

Just 5 other players have posted Usg% > 30, Ast% > 25, and TRb% > 10 for a season: http://bkref.com/tiny/EklJZ
