APBeerMetrics & sunday basketball

Post by mikez »

I'm happy to announce once again that as usual the basketball stats community is welcome to join us Thursday night before Sloan at the Fours (#1 sports bar in the country according to SI!). They will have space for us in the usual upstairs room - as a bonus this year, the Garden is dark that night so we should have the place mostly to ourselves. (I apologize in advance for the lack of last year's Justin Timberlake groupies.)

I won't be getting to the Fours til about 9:30 Thursday but they're open before then so feel free to show up anytime. As always, I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Nachos.

Unfortunately, it appears Basketball City Boston may have closed; I'm looking for an alternate space for the usual Sunday morning geeks' pickup game. Will keep you all posted in the next week or so on that.

It's been amazing to watch this community grow so much from the 10-ish people we had at the Fours the first year! So please do stop by if you're in town.

See you in 3 weeks!

Sounds great!

You can't get them to open up the Garden a few hours early for us on Sunday? Celtics don't play until 6... :)

Thanks MZ.

The Sloan-attending Nylon Calc guys and myself all plan on being at Fours. Here's hoping for pickup, I'd love to participate.

Sunday basketball will be happening; I'm just waiting for word back on a couple places. More in the next couple days, but if you're around that Sunday morning & want to play you should assume you'll be able to, somewhere. Alas, Jon, the Garden court's not available mid-day, due to Warriors' shootaround & then some sponsor stuff. I did check though!

Hi all. If you'd like to play ball with us at HBS on Sunday, please send me a PM (or email) with your name, no later than end of day Friday. The game will be at Shad Hall from 10 to 1ish. Participants will have to sign their usual facility waiver.

Won't hold anyone to attending if you send your name & don't show up, but there's a possibility they won't let you in if your name's not on the list, so please err on the side of letting me know you'll be there.

And of course there's the Fours tomorrow night (info above). See you this weekend!

hey fellas, sorry i haven't been too involved this year with posting / the community. I have a minor tear in my shoulder so I may actually miss out on the Sunday basketball this year. Hope everyone has fun!

Any noteworthy discussions arise at pub? Any post game stories folks want to share?

The in person gatherings usually generate little to no public comment. Be there... or not.
