Great work! Do you think this can be used to evaluate high school prospects? I'm using win shares adjusted for strength of schedule right now.

With the right data it absolutely could be! Especially the box-score only component.

I doubt you're going to be able to find the play by play data for high school games that's necessary to generate adjusted plus/minus metrics. Even if you did have that data, if you are trying to evaluate prospects on a national level, there's basically no interconnectivity among teams across the country. So you're dealing with a massive number of completely separate leagues where the talent level of the average player is going to vary drastically. Being a +5 player in Montana is much different than being a +5 player in NYC.

I'd imagine even good boxscore data is a challenge for a lot of high school games?

What about pbp data in the tournament showcase/Nike and Adidas sponsored type games?

I feel like I've read there is a ton of issues in the pbp for Nike/Adidas stuff.

I've had to use box scores for Nike, adidas, and UA tournaments. pbp for Nike might be available through Game Changer, but I don't think that includes time at all.
