Machine Learning and NBA prediction

I was wondering if anyone is into machine learning for NBA game prediction, in order to exchange some ideas and features/datasets.

My hearsay understanding is that some of the best gambling syndicates use machine learning approaches. I doubt they would discuss it publicly.

Well I am actually trying to start a small fund that trades on sport-predictions. Trading I mean placing bets on sports markets using principles from machine learning (for prediction) and porfolio-theory (for money management).

As I am working by myself, and it is really a slow process, I would really like to hear from people with similar and related background (e.g. computer science, machine learning, finance etc) so we can exchange ideas or even work together.
