Wizards' next steps
Re: Wizards' next steps
Lose to Celtics without Brown by 45. Shot defense presumably and turnovers.
Lineups at 251 before tonight. 241 dinks. 8 of 10 most used negative.

Re: Wizards' next steps
13% win.
30th and 28th on offensive and defensive efficiency before tonight.
6 factors in bottom 10, almost a 7th.
Average loss in October was by 11 pts, by 19 in December before tonight.
Most used lineup barely over equivalent of 3 minutes per game. An average of 12 new lineups every game, though a little less in last few games. 80% of 20 most used lineups negative. Almost 100% of 20 most used pairs negative beyond 1 neutral, all but one other at least -8.
Major drop in defensive rebounding after October. Major reversals in team and opponent 3pt fg%s as season has progressed.

Re: Wizards' next steps
How content or upset is management? Ownership?
What is considered to have gone right or even ok?
They knew it would be a multi-year process, but how many more years to play-in or playoffs?
Offensive efficiency went from 27th last season to 25th. Better shooting, more free throws but also more turnovers. Defense, worst or pretty near worst in almost every stat category.

Re: Wizards' next steps
The asset accumulation game (mainly draft picks) might eventually payoff... but it hasn't yet. Probably not "reasonable" to expect it to "payoff" by now but probably reasonable to hope or expect it to be less bad at this point.
Will management get to 2028 or 2030 or 2032 to show "success"?
By BPM they have 1 positive, 5 negatives -2.5 or better and 12 -3.5 or worse. Great for tanking I guess. 2 of the middle group are expiring.

Re: Wizards' next steps
Coulibaly is yr 3 so far: worst shooting of career worst turnovers, worst BPM, below any commonly used replacement level.
Re: Wizards' next steps
Wizards suddenly win 3 of 6...
Re: Wizards' next steps
How will Trae Young fit with the considered core young guys?
How will the contract dance go?

Re: Wizards' next steps
Is a new era on its way with Davis and Young? How long that lasts, time will tell..
It is unclear what the true intentions of the Wizards are with Young and David and vice versa. Could go several ways.
Davis announcing he isn't playing this season? Why not the team?
Young still out. Assume he comes back. But will he follow Davis in continuing to sit out? Will he opt out this summer?

Re: Wizards' next steps
Of 20 most used player pairs still possible, George - Champagnie is the best... at -4.5 pts / 100p. Not much to work with. Only -1 since January 1. Used about 11minutes per game. I'd probably increase that some.
Decrease a lot of the dink chaos.
At least have some sub-libeups and lineups tested enough in remaining time to decide whether to prioritize further testing of them next season or not.

Re: Wizards' next steps
Great individual stats for Trae Young in first 3 games.
Did he ever try to put on muscle / weight?
Ever encouraged? Still a possibility?

Re: Wizards' next steps
26 players have played for Wizards this season.
Carrington 21st on BPM, Riley 19th, T Johnson 16th, Whitmore 14th, Coulibaly 13th, George 10th.
Young, runaway 1st. Sarr, officially 4rd but practically 2nd. Bagley next.
What is internally considered the core now? What should it be?
Is it or should it be Young and the bigs?
Super early Young - Sarr with and without:

Will we see Davis?
