Does the EuroLeague know which of its teams submitted bids for NBA Europe? I would think they would. Hard to imagine teams doing it secretly or lying about it but who knows. Did any beyond AsVEL do so? As if they are realistic without huge cash infusion that probably is only possible or imagined. Not resorting to public criticism yet.

I would imagine both sides think not budging is the way to go for now. But time is more of an enemy for NBA Europe, imo.

"LIV Golf faces loss of Saudi funding. "

"LIV Golf isn’t the only sports property being reconsidered in Saudi reboot of investment strategy."

Could argue NBA was 2+ years too slow with NBA Europe project.

Investors reportedly want a soccer-style "transfer window” to buy NBA superstars but the NBA refuses.

A transfer window could work both ways.

They also want loans to be allowed.

But the 2 sides don't really agree on much.

Sources say the NBA is proposing a 52-48 percent revenue split but the NBA insists otherwise. Plans to re-invest in new league for a period of time are suggested but there is not a requirement to do so, or fully or forever.

Variable franchise fee pricing is another dispute.

Cuban bought into a Canadian Elite Basketball League team in greater Toronoro area.

CEBL could potentially become a more notable league in long-run. If they can boost revenue and spending. A summer league.

I think I recall some talk of adding US northern border cities but not positive. None yet.

Wonder if professionalized college players could play there. Niche market if the pay is very low but some mighr do it to generate stays. Internationals that didn't get NIL offers, D2 and D3 players, G leaguers, UDFAs... Rarely hear about guys that play there but have been a few mentions on the fringe.

Wonder if Cuban has significant ambitions for the league.

"NBA ready to spend $3 billion on new European League project"

out of money it says the league will generate but there is no public indication they have gotten.

out of the tens of billions they plan to extract from the league in just the intermediate future.

Can they maximize commercial opportunity for teams in NBA Europe while protecting domestic leagues and national teams? I have serious doubts. They all compete for media deals, ticket sales, merchandise sales, sponsors, etc.

Not a single breakaway team from Euroleague group, yet.

Value of a breakaway team would be major for the overall negotiations, but still none.

I say again, does the Euroleague have a comprehensive & detailed proposal of what if wants / will accept and will that ever be shared in public?

The original NBA Europe design appeared to see / expect joiners to be vassels and imo chumps. It is still to be clarified what they will accept but it appears less than original design.

Proposal for 12 teams in major cities but now saying the league would foresee going to 24 eventually and include non-major cities ? Why do it that way except to try to maximize franchise sales revenue?

NBA offering $8 million / year guaranteed distributions and more based on performance...

out of revenue it collects.

It could be called "an investment" or a slight rebate.

I am told European basketball TV media deals are heavily driven by betting-adjacent activity.

What standards/ boundaries would this proposed league have?

I am also told that most European basketball TV media deals have been renewed for roughly rest of decade.

Will the NBA reveal its initial revenues estimates & trend or will somebody leak them? How much from each source especially media revenue? What about salary cap levels?

When does the NBA actually pursue media deal and / or establish self owned streaming? Have heard nothing.

Are potential investors really preparing final real bids due in 2 weeks? I doubt it.

Nobody is following Real Madrid. In part because they are not leading. Even if they were trying, probably not leading Just squatting.

6 more weeks til Euroleague license renewal or probable immediate consequences.

Probably returns to Euroleague and squats on a $10 million option to leave later.

Euroleague leader not attacking or laughing at NBA. Seemingly just waiting for more concessions.

Press has largely been polite and patient but not that interested. Will it still be that way in 6 weeks?

NBA said it was reviewing bids. Non-binding preliminary bids or any actual / final bids yet?

Some speculation that the timeline will punt another year into future.

Some have been very skeptical from the beginning. Not aware of any calling it totally dead yet, but that may be coming.
