LeBron way ahead of everyone.
Taj Gibson 2nd? Didn't see or know.
Duncan 3.
Ariza 4? Didnt know that either.
Leonard 6th.
Westbrook 11th. This check was prompted by hearing someone say Westbrook had a historic or near historic playoffs.

The Playoff Summaries thread never had a final recap. If it had, it would look something like:

Code: Select all

eW/G per36 rates tm Sco Reb Ast eW/G per36 rates tm Sco Reb Ast
.219 LeBron James Mia 33 8 6 .112 Bradley Beal Was 19 4 4
.191 Russell Westbrook Okl 26 7 8 .112 Damian Lillard Por 19 4 5
.189 Dwight Howard Hou 24 14 2 .109 Joe Johnson Brk 22 4 3
.180 Kevin Durant Okl 27 8 4 .104 Dwyane Wade Mia 21 5 5

.143 Paul Millsap Atl 22 11 3 .097 Kawhi Leonard SAS 19 8 2

These are players with at least 1.00 eWins total. From 1st round eliminees, only Dwight and Millsap are represented.
Only 16 others were even half as good as Westbrook.

According to ew/g, due to its implicit weighting of usage and the rest.

eWins values production relative to opponents'.
From that link to 85 players who averaged 24 mpg, we get curious comparisons between WS and eWins.
Most overrated by WS/48, relative to eWins:

Code: Select all

diff 2014 playoffs ws/48 eW/48 diff 2014 playoffs ws/48 eW/48
.072 Trevor Ariza .202 .130 -.147 Gary Neal -.165 -.018
.065 DeMarre Carroll .107 .042 -.110 D.J. Augustin -.031 .079
.063 Patrick Patterson .172 .109 -.095 Dirk Nowitzki .011 .106
.058 Mike Miller .085 .027 -.093 Zach Randolph .018 .111
.048 Boris Diaw .155 .107 -.078 Russell Westbrook .166 .244

.047 Jimmy Butler .096 .049 -.072 LaMarcus Aldridge .097 .169
.045 Kawhi Leonard .191 .146 -.070 Gerald Henderson -.032 .038
.044 Taj Gibson .221 .177 -.066 Mike Conley .088 .154
.044 Vince Carter .141 .097 -.065 Carlos Boozer .035 .100
.044 Serge Ibaka .143 .099 -.063 Dwight Howard .185 .248

.038 George Hill .107 .069 -.062 Kevin Durant .145 .207
.038 Patrick Beverley .048 .010 -.059 Nene Hilario .048 .107
.032 Tim Duncan .204 .172 -.059 John Wall .067 .126
.031 Courtney Lee .043 .012 -.059 Dwyane Wade .086 .145
.029 Mike Dunleavy .123 .094 -.058 Tony Parker .071 .129
The underrated-by-WS (on the right) group has much greater magnitude of difference. The whole group of 85 avg -.012, and a total deficit of -4.92 WS.
Apparently less credit is going to top players, and more to bench players.
(eWins gives credit for % of minutes vs opposing starters.)

Here are the Mavs' primary players:

Comparing the left and right sides of your first table in last post, I am pretty sure the right side has a higher average usage rate than the left. The left side might also have more guys with above average individual defensive contributions whereas at some of the ones on the right might over-benefit from being the impact of teammates on the overall opponent scoring level.
