I think to reach the top, you want to know what those top defenses are doing differently from you. I do think this could be expanded on more.

Where are you finding these open FG% on SportVU? I don't see that section.

Long process short: I scraped the data from the player shot logs found here: http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/203083/t ... shotslogs/

And then coded each shot the way SportVu defines it (Very Tight, Tight, Open, Wide Open), combined Open and Wide Open, combined results for the teams and then found the results.
